Note from the Webmistress: Written by Furboll3 (pictured left), these Blog entries are best read in series (if this is your first visit here, click on "Index" below to see them from the beginning) they may make a little more sense that way... or not. Occasionally, he has help from Edgar Noddle, Gnome. They have left comment boxes open, here and there, if you wish to send them a comment. You may use a pseudonym if you are shy.

17: Within the Eyes of Insects.

by Furboll3 - 17:06 on 29 June 2007

29 June 2007. Today the Mistress found a brilliant-blue damselfly struggling on the surface of the pond. Somehow he had become trapped by the surface tension of the water, rather like the one she rescued and photographed last summer (see her Nature Photos page). Reaching across the water with a twig she managed to rescue this one too, and was rewarded with the wonder of being able to gaze into his translucent dew-drop eyes where azure and gold mingled like the essence of sky and sun. It was a magical moment while she watched him clean his face with delicate forelegs, saw the miraculous detail of each tiny moving part sculpted and painted so precisely and animated by Spirit...and then he was gone, a glimmer of azure and sunshine on diaphanous wings, but leaving a memory of the treasure held within the eyes of insects.
