Recycled Maths Book

by Suzanne Gyseman - 08:22 on 06 September 2016

I am always trying to think of ways to save Earth's resources and cause as little harm as possible during my visit to this beautiful and precious planet. Recycling paper such as pages from unwanted books as backgrounds for mixed media paintings is one way, and also produces some fun imagery. The above faery was painted in acrylics on a page from one of my old school exercise books. That book must be almost an antique now. A touch of vintage as well as fun!

I have been looking back at my diary notes from my travels in the rainforests of South East Asia. I made three trips there over 30 years ago. The extent of the rainforests has been much depleted in the past 30 years and many of the birds and other creatures I saw back then are now less common because of the loss of their habitats.

Planet Earth is an oasis in Space. It is a long, long way to anywhere else as amazing as Earth.
